Meet the Coach

I am a Cert III and IV Qualified PT, strength and Conditioning Coach , Powerlifting Coach, Weightlifting Coach, CrossFit Coach and Triathlon Coach. I am a Sports Massage Therapist specialising in Remedial, Deep Tissue and Trigger Point. I am also currently completing a Diploma in High Performance Coaching for AFL and NRL , sponsored by the NTH QLD Cowboys NRL Club and have completed a Cert III Small Business Course. I have worked as an S&C Coach with the Geelong Falcons in the TAC Cup and the Gold Coast Suns Development Squad. I have also been the head S&C Coach for the Northern Pride Rugby League Club, the feeder team for the Nth QLD Cowboys in the NRL. Working with high credentialed sports Coaches and Doctors in a high performance environment at the Gold Coast Suns and Northern Pride has helped give me an insight into how to design, control and monitor athlete wellbeing and performance Over the years I have managed to play football, Interleague and completed 5 Ironman Triathlons, with a PB of 9hrs 40, unfortunately not good enough to qualify for Kona. I still enjoy lifting and running but now focus more on athlete S&C.

Weightlifting is an enjoyable sport with some technical moves thrown in just for fun!

Who Should sign up for our Weightlifting club?

If you’re looking for a place to learn how to weightlift or maybe you want to improve, then you’ve found it. Our weekly weightlifting club is designed for anyone (beginner or experienced) who wants to take their weightlifting to the next level. Our weekly club sessions are headed by an expert coach who will take you through fundamental movements, technique drills, accessory work and coaching that is specific to your needs in order to improve your lifting game.

What can you expect?

If you come to our weightlifting club consistently, you will see rapid increase in strength, speed, coordination, power and flexibility – the key skills required for improved athleticism in general. Most importantly, you will have fun. Learning and mastering new skills is a great confidence boost, and our friendly group environment is sure to keep you motivated. Olympic lifting movements can not be self-learned (due to their complexity), so it is important that you are taught by a qualified weightlifting coach.

Before You come along....

Before you learn the Clean & Jerk and the Snatch, you first need a proficient strength base in fundamental movements including squat, deadlift, power clean and split jerk. So, prior to commencing at our weightlifting club, we require you to complete a movement and mobility assessment with expert weightlifting coach. Upon completion of this assessment, you will be provided with individual mobility drills relative to your areas of restriction and accessory strength/corrective exercises specific to you. Your introduction to weightlifting club will be relative to your experience level.

How to get started.

Step 1:

In order to attend Weightlifting club classes you need to have a full Weightlifting membership of $25.00 per week. (Members on a full gym access membership that would like to be a part of the Weightlifting Club will be required to upgrade their membership to the full Weightlifting Membership rate).

We also strongly recommend that current members who are new to this style of training complete our Weightlifting Foundations Program, which will provide you with technique fundamentals and movement/mobility assessments.

Once you have completed your intro program (optional for current members), you are free to enter into our weekly Weightlifting Club sessions on - Date TBA
