Rules of the game

This comp is based on Body Weight % and weight lifted (Wilks Formula). It is suitable for all Abilities and includes a Junior category.

Straps, Bands, Belts and chalk are all allowed. Wear whatever

 you like, but we are encouraging everyone to wear green of some sort in support of the Gillin Boys Foundation. Competitors will have 60 secs once bar is racked to leave the platform, and for the next competitor be ready to lift. There will be a 30min lunch break, we will have food vans but bring lunch if you want. there will be a 15min change over between events, and this will keep the day moving on, and give everyone a bit of time to have a break.

Competitors must weigh in on the day, Registrations will open at 8.00am and close at 8.30am. Competitors briefing will be at 8.45am ready for a 9.30am start.

SQUAT

SQUAT - After removing the bar from the rack, plant your feet and they must stay in the one position, the referee will then give the command to squat, No double bouncing at the bottom of the squat. At the top of the squat, wait for the referee's command to rack.

BENCH PRESS

BENCH PRESS - The lifter must lie on their back with head, shoulders and buttocks in contact with the flat bench surface. Shoes must be flat on the floor. The lifter must wait for the ref's signal to begin the lift. After receiving their signal, the lifter must lower the bar to their chest, hold id motionless on the chest, until the referee signals to press. At the top of the motion, hold until command of rack from the referee.

DEADLIFT

DEADLIFT - On completion of the lift, the knees must be in a locked in a straight position. Once the bar is lifted you must wait for the referees command of Down, there is no hitching allowed. Dropping of the bar is prohibited, must be a controlled lower to the ground.

For e.g.

If you are 79.9kg and you total 330kg, your point score is 225.47 total.

If you are 72kg and your total is 320kg, your point score is 234.79 total.

Even though the 72kg person has totalled less than the 79.9kg person, the 72kg person has a higher score based on a lower total, even though its less total weight lifted.

This means everyone has a chance within their weight category.
